Upper Spectacle Pond and Webb Sawmill in Sandisfield Group Hike September 19th 10:00 am
GPS Location for Parking and Hike Start: 42.192718 -73.120653 on Route 23 in Otis corner of Upper Spectacle Pond Road. Trailhead Hike Rating: Easy to Moderate approximately 3.6 Miles and 3-4 hours. This hike is relatively flat and on old roads.

You must register for this event using ticket leap, you will receive a confirmation number. This event as of today is limited to 25 people.  Masks/face coverings are required as well as 6 feet distance between hikers.  All will sign a covid waiver.  Hand sanitizer and disposable pencils will be provided.


"NOTE: Due to Current Massachusetts COVID-19 mandates: registration, signing a COVID-19 waiver, masks if you cannot social distance and whatever other mandates are ordered by Governor Baker will be required to participate in this event. The number of participants may be restricted. Please check back on this event for any and all updates" Due to state COVID-19 regulations we are limited to 50 IF the state lifts the max participation numbers I will increase the max number.

Join us for a hike to Upper Spectacle Pond and the Webb Sawmill in Sandisfield at Otis State Forest. We will park in the gravel pull off lot on Route 23 in Otis and hike into Otis State Forest down Upper Spectacle Pond Road(dirt road) to Webb Road(dirt road) to view Upper Spectacle Pond and then go into the woods along Spectacle Pond Brook to explore the former 1876 Webb Sawmill complete with sluiceway.  Hike is along dirt/gravel State Forest Road to the pond and then a grassy/dirt trail to a vista on the ponds edge.  Webb Sawmill will be explored on the way back from the vista.  Sawmill is located on a footpath off of the dirt road.  Parking is a gravel State Forest lot on Route 23, please carpool with friends and park tight so we all fit in the lot.Bring bugspray, snacks, drinks, walking sticks and good footwear.  If you have questions about the hike please email [email protected].

Maps and bottled water will be provided. Please be aware that there are no facilities at the trail. Well behaved dogs are welcome! hike is free, donations are welcome!
