Group Hike at Park Knox Acres
February 26th @ 10 am
195-183 Round Hill Road Chester 01011
Hike Rating: Easy with some slopes, two loops and a spur

Join us for a family friendly easy hike at our very own conserved property in Chester!
A mixed hardwood and hemlock forest with two short loops.  A small brook runs through the center of the property with small cascading waterfalls.  Located on Round Top Hill, which is the highest peak in Hampden County, historic for its unique forest full of wildflowers, many varieties of birds and wildlife including moose, bear, deer, bobcat and turkey.  This is a unique conserved parcel which was for over 200 years a family horse farm, it was an original early settler small village complete with a schoolhouse. In the 1970's it was a wildlife retreat with a simple cabin, completely off grid where folks gathered to bird watch, enjoy the starry night sky, ride horses and revel in the beauty of nature.  We will hike on easy trails, over bridges to the monolith Chester and Blandford boundary stone.

The trail is easy, single file, well-marked and fun! This is a great trail for families and kids. There are several bridges, stone walls and a view of Round Top Hill.  There will be hot cocoa and cookies to warm us up. Take Blandford Road to Round Hill Road, please see the website for directions!  Register at https://westernmasshilltownhikers.ticketleap.com  hike is free, donations are appreciated!
